Wild Blossom was closed for a private event on a Saturday night. Thought that was odd.

Horse Thief Hollow's BBQ is pretty bad. Burnt ends shouldn't taste like pot roast.

They had some good beers on, including a tasty hazy IPA and probably the best 'sour IPA' of the 4 or so I've ever had.

Since when does Cork & Kerry blast country music?

I miss Maple Tree.

Should have gone for the pulled pork nachos.

Mount Greenwood is Chicago's Upside Down

Pretty sure that stretch of Western is Beverly. Mount Greenwood ends at 103rd and Sacramento. But point taken.
its not like that sentiment stops 3 blocks shy. granted, i know a ton more folks in beverly than i do mt greenwood, but i think they all co-mingle on western. the south side and south suburbs got weird in the last few years.

I had heard some of the guys at Beer Cellar saying they tried it and liked it, so I got a pint at Burger Antics brunch. Tasted like peanuts and IPA, nice nut flavor that clashed with a kinda bitter/west-coast-ish IPA. If that's your thing, it was okay.

It was not my thing. The Miskatonic grisette was worlds better.

Finally cracked a Miscellanea over the weekend.

I now regret being financially responsible instead of buying the full 6-bottle allotment :(

Yeah. Its really really good. As of last Friday (10/19) they still had bottles to go. Id be surprised if they sold out since then.

I didn't make it over for the release and I had assumed they were sold out by now. I guess I'll duck over there this week at some point.

so who had the peanut IPA......review?
Picked up a 4pk from kenwood when grabbing some coffee eugene, I couldn't help it. It's not great, taste like an ipa made with peanuts. Starts like a ipa finishes very salty and nutty. If anyone is dying to try it, doesn't want to spend $, and is around oak forest, come grab a can from me. Neither my wife or I thought it was anything special.

We also took Cygnet and finished it in the Publican & Barr Hill Tom Cat gin barrel. It’s a gin our bar director Melissa made with them that used Illinois wildflower honey. I called it White Light from the Mouth of Infinity after the Swans record, cuz Cygnet = Swan. We yielded 2 sixtels, one kicked last night durin the party, the other will be on probably through tomorrow.

Nice! I’ll be be happy to try regular Cygnet, let alone that gin barrelled one.

Mikerphone's doing a barrel aged beer event on the Wednesday before FoBAB, with event tickets only able to be purchased by winners of lottery tickets, that are only earned by additional taproom purchases.

Or you can come by The Mousetrap on that Saturday of FoBAB for our one year anniversary party, no tickets or purchase of anything, but the beer you wanna drink...

Seems unfair to the guys who have made every single ISLBS variant release while leaving their kids in the car, but don't have time to stop in for a pint.
