While I don't consider them to be true BBQ, I really enjoy the ribs from the Patio.
Baby Back Blues BBQ in Plainfield.I've been back in the Chicago area for almost 20 years and I still have yet to find BBQ that compares to even the average place in the Deep South.
So my complaints to beeraficionado worked. Sweet. Can't think of a better local beer for fall football watching
I've never quite understood why Chicagoland BBQ is so weak. We clearly like to eat around here and I've never understood why we don't have some stronger options
This will happen soon. Thanks for the tip.
Sorry dude. You're about 2 hours too late with me.So from the last few pages of this thread it seems people are from my neck of the woods (oak forest). So you guys want to drink some beers?
I also live in Oak Forest. I'll probably flake on any plans to grab beers though. So from the last few pages of this thread it seems people are from my neck of the woods (oak forest). So you guys want to drink some beers?
Rogers Park/Evanston if you’re looking for good jerk/Jamaican. (Since this food convo was getting so S. Suburb focused)![]()
There was a tremendous Jerk place in Country Club Hills called Kingstons. The Jamaican chef would come walking in reeking like pot. That's how you knew it was legit. He moved on and the place has sucked ever since.Having lived in Evanston and Rogers Park and now living on the South Side I miss having good [Chinese/Sushi/Indian/Thai/Mediterranean/Jamaican] all over the place. However if you want beef sandwiches and pizza we got you covered.
Shout out to Sauce and Bread Kitchen while we are shouting out places to eat near WisconsinRogers Park/Evanston if you’re looking for good jerk/Jamaican. (Since this food convo was getting so S. Suburb focused)![]()
Also, **** yeah Alarmist. Gary is one of the most refreshing people i've ever met in this industry, and he works hard and is completely humble, he's open and honest about his business in a way not many are, he's a good person, and they make great beer.
"We'll close if we don't find a buyer." Always helps your bargaining power.I feel like I pondered 'are there still two places a week or two ago.' Also this quote makes me scratch my head --"The company said beer sales have been strong at the brewpub, but prefer to focus resources on beer distributing"

it was weird, like they opened the taproom and brewpub in the same year. as a t-shirt i think from parks & rec once said - whole ass one thing, dont half ass two things.I mean I don’t think they ever brewed there anyway. Which is dumb, because they were buying their own beer through a distributor. Or being shady and transferring before the the law bill passed.
So I've seen BJ's in Oswego, vav and The Beer Cellar all announce Jester King events / releases today.
Just another small drop or the precursor to them announcing Chicagoland as a new market?
I'm so glad you didn't use the oxford comma here. I'm unfamiliar with that store, so I definitely got a good laugh when I read it too fast the first time.

They are a Shelton brand, yeah? Would make perfect sense to make drops when they are sending Cantillon and related beverages around Zwanze locations. Just speculation from me here.So I've seen BJ's in Oswego, vav and The Beer Cellar all announce Jester King events / releases today.
