Adding my $0.02 late on Chicago’s hot chicken scene. I’ve had quite a few of the Chicago options, all are fine to tasty, but never quite as hot so misses the mark of the stuff from Nashville.

But more importantly, my biggest gripe is trying to put this fancy moniker on it and upcharhing the **** out of it. Down south it’s like $7 for a 1/2 chicken with 2 sides. Here at places like Budlong it’s like $13 for 1/4 chicken and no sides. That’s why it will never be as good.
I went and ate at Roost for the first time because of this conversation. I got the “Nashville hot” with sides of green beans and bread pudding. While I agree it wasn’t as spicy as I’d like, it was DAMN good. I can’t wait to go back there

Walked into the DLD forum on the other site and saw this:
"Absolutely not! I would never send my mom to a brewery for a release knowing how you disgusting, sweaty, neckbeard animals are. I’ve got way more respect for my mom than that. I have never, in my craft beer life ever sent a mule to pick up beer for me. ******* lame."

My buddy had his 30th hosted at Imperial Oak. Was an awesome time and they did a wristband thing so the servers/bartenders could distinguish between them and regular customers.

Not the right direction, but we've had events at both Temperance and Smylie Brothers in Evanston.

Which direction of suburbia?

Sorry for partying.

Not that it's important, but it's a pretty funny backstory that came up at the Benthic release (my mistake...it was his friend's mom, not his). Then watching him lie and proceed to double-down on being a ******* was mildly entertaining.

The fact that this was potentially in consideration for even a moment is deeply concerning.
im a classic guy...i suggested the roundhouse thinking it was still walter paytons roundhouse. what else is enormous in the burbs? you wanna pretend you didn't drink some red eye porter or heavy handed 7 years ago? I should dig through old pictures to try and find you doin a keg stand at a hop juice festival.

That first year of Hop Juice fest back in '09 was pretty great. Parabola, Darkness, Avery Voltron, Pizza Port Tovarish as just a few of the guest taps. 2nd year had Russian River Supplication & Lost Abbey Red Poppy. And then like all things Two Brothers it went to trash in subsequent years.

That first year was a fantastic time. A lot of people were oblivious to those rare kegs.

You will need to search 2009-2011 for those pictures but I'll be the guy at the head of the Hop Juice Black release line drunk off the rare taps no one cared about while I wait to pick up bombers that I would get made fun of for purchasing to this day. I think I still have a Hop Juice Black abomination somewhere in the cellar. Cellaring that gem for a rar whalez tasting.

As an aside, Walter Payton's had great steaks and a unique atmosphere. Sad that place isn't around anymore.

if only i could chew member berries and laugh at myself waiting in a lil line for hop juice black (black paint on dark bottle so coool) drinkin parabola , lookin at the owners mind blowing electric tesla car (whhaaa its all batteries?). not that they were ever the greatest but once they took that distribution deal that thing nosedived like a sophomore album. there were some real gems, i loved the first two batches of those foeder ales, northwinds, coffee porter.

My wife and I were at the Warrenville brewpub just about every other Friday back in 08-10 before we had kids. Cane and Ebel, Northwind, random cask beers, the food was top notch, great service. There and the Bavarian Lodge were pretty much the only worthwhile spots back in the day.

This shall be yours truely this evening after about 7ish if any of y’all care to join.

I can’t make it tonight, I took an opening manager shift at Publican. So if anyone is in the area feel free to swing by and say hi on the way to Beer Bistro.

I know this is odd, but does anyone here know someone selling their house in Logan near Hopewell? Checking out the listing and I saw not only a rather extensive bourbon (mostly Willett) collection, but also a beer stash stored horizontally on wine racks. Just curious as this entire house buying adventure has been a nightmare of multiple, way over list offers and Trixies and Chads starting to dominate the west side...

Perchance, is there a neck brace visible in any of the photos? Maybe hanging from the coat rack for easy access?
