I love it. The timing is absolutely not an accident. However, I'm wondering which they expected to happen:

1. "People will be at DLD so there won't be nearly as big of a line!"
2. "Let's release our most hyped beers during one of the largest beer festivals in the GL region so we can get maximum line and maximum exposure!"

Considering that they were bragging about the size of their line on social media for their very first stout release, including a full line length video, I am going with #2.

In other news More Brewing is releasing three barrel aged beers on Dark Lord Day weekend (Fri,Sat,Sun). I can't wait to see the drama that will ensue with all of our local ****-lords being joined by out of town ****-lords.

Still haven't tried a More beer yet. In theory I should like them based on their location and notoriety they are getting. But things like this, along with calling a beer "Juicy" when he was at RAM really makes me want to keep holding out and never try their stuff.

EDIT: along with the fact that you have to give up a left kidney to acquire any of their stouts.

EDIT: along with the fact that you have to give up an arm and a leg to diabetes if you acquire any of their stouts.

I've been a couple times. Their food is pretty damn good tbh they do a Nashville Hot chicken sandwich that's great) but their beer is meh. Some of their ipas are solid but others are super undercarbed others are overcarbed and others just fall flat.

I dont get the hype behind the Henna series at all. Tried the first two (bottles of the second and draft of the first) and it's just meh. I mean I'm definitely a pastry stout girl but dont understand the hype at all.

That being said, seriously go eat that chicken sandwich.

Yes! I went a few months ago and was like this is good. Went again yesterday for lunch and absolutely blew me away.

It's the best hot chicken I've had north of Louisville, and I try it almost anywhere that has it. More has a really solid kitchen, and while the beers aren't in my wheelhouse, they are markedly better than when they opened.

Just stay away from the Pilsner...

In retrospect, More's lactose porter (aka a pastry porter) wasn't just bad. Its existence actually angers me. I understand the appeal of a 14% dessert beer. But why a 6% Yoohoo exists is beyond me and bothers the **** out of me.

The problem with pastry stouts isn't the concept; It's the stupid behavior around them. No one looks at port as unnecessary or a gimmick. It's just something a majority of people don't pour during dinner or down bottles of in one sitting. Aperitifs have their place, and that SHOULD be what a pastry stout is in the beer world.

Must have been a bad day, but I didn't think much of the hot chicken at MORE. Wasn't particularly spicy or interesting. Agree with all of the other takes on their beer. Hazebros have been wildly inconsistent, pastry stouts are super beetus, everything else meh to bad.

It'd be cool to serve pastry stouts as part of dessert. But you build hype with to go beers, not 5oz snifters paired with meringue or whatever.

FWIW, US beverages all trend towards diabetes inducing sugar water, so why should the shift in beer taste be any different? In a few years, we'll all be decrying standard serving sizes like:

To be fair, and as far as I know, all current locations were opened without any involvement by Tadros. I think the one location he had a hand in closed.

TBH, I just feel sad for all of the people Tadros touched. Mostly his ex-wife, whom he ******* bit, but the businesspeople, too. They didn't know he was robbing Peter to pay Paul and probably didn't see him straight enough to pick up that he was a guy willing to step on "little people" to get where he wanted to be that much faster.

Anyway, we call all agree that Leghorn is on the bottom rung of bougie fried chicken in Chicago. Making a kale salad and calling Chick-fil-a a bunch of bigots doesn't put you on the right side of history. GET OFF YER HIGH HORSE!
