Had no clue Burial was coming here. Just saw Beer Temple post it. That skillet donut is a really nice and easy drinking coffee stout. Honestly I have no idea what else they make.

Surf wax is an awesome IPA. It’s no “juice bomb” or “haze bro” but just a really solid IPA

Can I call you Al?

I don't know where I am going with this but my local Binny's has BCS, BCBW, Zombie Dust, Jester King, Rodenbach Alexander, Boon Black Label and Discovery packs, and loads of newer stuff that I don't know about just turding away for weeks and months on end these days. Things that truck chasers would have cleared the shelf off a few years ago now just sit.

I love having these choices whenever I want them but something seems off. Maybe market trends have left me behind which is cool.

Never change Shimkos.

why is he still in the guild...he should join off color and metropolitan as just being cursory members. and as someone who did get their scores back 3 & 4 years ago, they aint worth the paper they are printed on. I think the one I had, had the word awesome on their twice and the phrase 'im not sure'.

Damn, you mean I could be a judge? That's scary.

We all know I have a broke ass palate since 2 thousand late. Don’t like anything hype more or less.

Didn’t they raise the price of entry, too? What a waste.

Just wanted to put this out there, I'm moving apartments at the end of March and will be needing to clear out my glassware collection, also have some basic homebrewing equipment (1 & 5 gallon). If anyone wants anything, just message/text me whatever and you can basically have anything for free, just need to pick it up in Lincoln Park.

I'm only keeping like 10 glasses so it's first come first serve free for all. Anything that doesn't get picked up by March 31 is going to Salvation Army unless someone has another good donation idea that benefits people.

the entry fee is sorta hilarious. The donation of 3 sixtels worth like 1K in bottles (or 500 in kegs) and the yearly membership fee isn't possibly enough to keep that fest going (that's negating the sponsorship stuff too).

somehow, lou dog manages to throw beer fests that cost half (granted the quality no where near), are in fancier locations, pay the breweries and manage to make sizable donations to charity all the while making money as a business. im no lou dog homer (two checks still missing) but for something that has seen its membership quadruple in 5 years, for entry fees to the event to go up, that's bonkers.

Got any 3 Floyds glassware?

just an update here, homebrew stuff is spoken for, a lot of glassware is getting claimed. You can see a moderately outdated gallery of my glassware at the following link. Feel free to message me about just about anything. The Cantillon stuff is spoken for at this point FWIW.

Yeah I stopped seeing a point in going to FoBAB a few years ago. But I really only do a couple of fests these days nationally (Tampa Bay Beer Week - puts Chicago to ******* shame, and is really like 5 fests by the time I am done), Great Taste of the Midwest, and a couple of med fests... is that it? I don't get out much anymore.

Off Color’s The One Percent, it’s very very good.

Saw the description of this and thought about those old GI wilds that they aged in BCBS barrels. Maybe it's time to make the trip out to Mousetrap...

I was doubtful because the few bourbon barrel aged sours I’ve had were either really good or really, really bad, but I should have had more faith in Off Color.
