Fellow FIBs: does anyone know if this batch of Black Note is coming to Chicago like the last batch did?

The manager at Binny's Lincoln park said "as far as I know, draft only no bottles" on his twitter. Seems he would know. Also seeing the in person Chicago trades for it on BA, doesn't look good.

I'm sure other FIB's are taking the drive and hording it by the truck load as we speak. So pretty sure with a case limit, trades won't be that hard.

At least we got a good amount of Mirror Mirror, Parabola and Sump recently.

Our percent of distro on KBS also looks promising too... so I hear

Just looking on the bright side I guess.

Thanks ... I'm behind on beer news that's not posted here lately. I've been meaning to set up an IP trade for some BBPt5, so maybe I'll try to get a little of this at the same time.

honestly, just trade for it. unless you can be at stores within minutes of announcement, you're better off just trading for it or finding overpriced bottles at bars.

Not that you need an excuse to go to Kumas Corner, but they got bottles last year. Wasn't on the menu I just spotted them in the cooler. Bartender says they get it every year. The girlfriend and I were the only ones drinking them, at something very reasonable like $7 or $8 a bottle.

i'm not a FIB, but i've heard your scene is even worse than the NY scene for competition in which case, taking the day off to hunt will probably prove disappointing. the good news is you'll be able to enjoy the one bottle you find in the afternoon instead of having to wait til you get off work.

I hate disappointment, and seeing that I have less than great luck, I will not be searching Chicago for KBS. But now I want Kumas...

Well just got back from the KBS hunt, was able to get 12 bottles. a 4 pack from Binny's Lincoln park, 2 bottles from the Grand Binnys (Thanks Sis), 2 from Joe's wine cellar, great place by the way, wish I lived closer. A 4 pack from Go Grocers, by North and Damen but 9 bucks a bottle, yet no limit.

Now for the tips, life's a Cabaret said maybe Thursday, but 2 stores a few yards away got theirs, so my guess is regulars only. The Walgreen on North and Damen got theirs but not priced there for in back and not to be touched. The nice lady said tomorrow.

the whole foods got theirs but it's for a ticketed event at 6 today but they got 15 cases so maybe they might sell after, at least that's what 2 workers said.

In the end I meet a few cool people,been to a few new places and enjoyed the first nice weather day this season outdoors.

Edit: Looked back, it was $18 for a 4 pack in 2012 when they did it. $10 for a bomber last year.
