Random FIB beer thought:
After spending two separate weeks in/around Dallas recently, I really wish IL would allow growler stations/stores.

They are cropping up around Milwaukee. Seems like the ones up here get a few limited / draft only offerings now and again, but mostly they just sell stuff you that's already turding up the packy. And at a higher price / oz.

YMMV, especially with your better distro down there.

Better to pay $15 for 64oz of draft that you have to drink within a day or two, or

$10 for 72oz of fresh cans?

Growlers are generally the worst deal going IMO.

Glad you already know the prices for this current hypothetical. Can I get the winning powerball #'s for tomorrow too?

**** me.

I don't see many 64oz growlers going for less than $15 (maybe $12 if you already have glass), but I guess I'm the ******* here.

We still need to throw down from missing each other at FoBAB. ;)

Yeah this is what I'd fear happening, especially down here. Shops that price the fills above what's available on the shelf already. Although I think they would be a good alternative to all these damn $10 bombers.
Some positive examples from Dallas:
$10 Yellow Rose 750ml vs $8 Yellow Rose 32oz Crowler
$10.50 Prairie Funky Amarillo 500ml vs $10 Funky Amarillo 32oz Crowler
Subtract a $1 if using an already owned glass howler and I'd go that route everytime...until those beers are available in 6pks.

I was gritting my teeth thinking about being stuck at work for another hour.

I like being able to get fresh 1/2gal of beersh that I will smash the same day. Just don't feel like I have to justify it.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And don't forget the environment!! A reusable 64oz. glass versus bauxite mines? The former, please.

Honestly, if more places did howlers, I would pay the per oz. premium. I'd love 32oz. of Rev's Civil Disobedience (or any other number of beers). Even if the beer was packaged, the howler option isn't so far off price-wise to change my mind.

That too...just didn't want to open that can of worms.

EDIT: In case it wasn't clear, get to work.
Is his purpose hitting that weird bong and ******* that couch? Cuz that's what I took away from that image. He even broke the mirror behind it cuz he couldn't stand to look at himself while he did it, and he's so ashamed of himself he plans to end it all by jumping out that open window when he's done. That'll show that stuck up bitch who works at the coffee shop whom he never even gathered the courage to talk to cuz he's nothing but a fat four-eyed loser living in a ****** poorly maintained apartment in the bad part of town. Or did I miss the mark on that one?

Please narrate other Far Side comics in the near future.

February 28th is the next Penrose bottle release. I hope they name the release neckbeard trolling. Stout aged in 4 Roses barrels and that same stout in 4 roses barrels with cacao, cinnamon, & vanilla. 375 mL bottles both waxed. Talk about hitting all the hot buttons. Jimmies will most certainly be rustled at this one. I can't imagine when folks will be lining up. More details about the release to come.

It's a pity because I'd really like to taste those beers because while I thought regular Spectral was decent and unique I'm really curious about how it tastes barrel aged.

I'm interested to see if the BA spectral also has the chai spices or if it is a straight stout. If the variant has chai spices on top of the 3 additions then that's a pretty full plate of flavor.

They may have more of this beer to go around. Not sure how many barrels they filled but I think it was more than the wilds.
