Hey everyone I have just brewed a nice galaxy ale yesterday and I'm wondering how long would you let it brew for? It's my first grain beer, my other beers are always brewed after 2 weeks. So if you guys cn help with great ideas that would be appreciated.

The same as any other beer, until the FG has stabilized.

Anyway I always let them go a few weeks to a month unless it's a style that really wants to be drunk young. That way even big beers usually done, although for the really big ones more like 4-6 weeks.

Personally, I just don't like having to check gravity a lot. Sometimes it's necessary, but it always involves time, and attention to sanitation. If you can leave it alone and not worry about it that's better. I stopped doing secondaries for the most part too. Just not necessary, in fact more harm than good.

Of course you are new to this, so you are more like the kid at christmas morning waiting to open up your carboy lol.

I left my all grain golden ale for 4 weeks and it ended up beautiful and havnt had a problem so I'm very happy. When I did my gravity test my SG levels were between high and low in the middle where it usually is.. Talk soon mate and cheers for the info..
