Hi all,

I brewed a Belgian wit on March 21 and it was a beautiful yellow color. I just checked on it and now it's much darker almost weird looking.

Is this from the Krausen(?) falling?

I wonder if the flavor is ruined or anything else. I hope not, I brewed it for a contest.

Any ideas?

Your first viewing you saw the pretty yellow color because the suspended yeast reflected the light. Once the ferment slows and the yeast start to settle the light isn't reflected anymore and you get a darker looking beer because the light travels through the beer instead of being reflected. Once you pour that beer into a smaller container (pilsner glass?) it will look lighter again because the light doesn't have to travel through as much beer.
