I'm sitting here burping my 4th child who is 2 days old now and wondering to myself, "can I give her Fermcaps? " It seems like it would work great. Has anyone tried it?

I do the opposite. I give my starters infant gas drops. Half the cost of fermcap but the same effect. I don't think I'd be comfortable doing it the other way around though.

Yeah they have simethicone specifically for infants. You should use that instead.

Having just passed the cusp of my second child's colic (10 weeks old), let me just say: we tried the simethicone gas drops this time, and they don't do jack squat to help the kid with their colic/gas. Their guts are just brand new and have a lot of uncomfortable adjusting to do. Infant probiotic worked well for us with both kids - Udo's Choice Infant Probiotic is worth the steep pricetag if you can find it in your local Whole Foods (obviously ask your pediatrician first)

We found after 6 mos. that colic is often reflux. A pediatric gastroenterologist got them on the right meds, slept through the night literally within days.

God bless that Dr.

Fermcap S is not ok for your baby. It's specifically intended for beers that will be filtered and should not be used in unfiltered beers as it will go way over the allowable concentration of silicone as per FDA. I definitely wouldn't feed it to my kid.
