the flyers get a little closer to being the top seed in the east...

I still want Ottawa to win tomorrow, but now it doesn't matter, the Flyers won't get the Rangers until the ECF if both advance.

The playoffs are crazy. The Flyers can still end up with any team in the East except the Rangers in the second round, depending on who wins tomorrow night.

Oh well..The boys could use a break... Now it's 9 out of the last 11 Stanley cup winners don't make it out of the 1st round...

When does football season start???

So that wasnt goalie interference because he was following up the shot? Devils game at 8:30? Guess they want an hour layover in case of overtime in the other game.

Last 4 Stanley Cup winners out in the first round, now the little dogs can fight for the scraps.

Right, just like when Hartnell dove to poke the puck past Fleury in Game 6.

What are everyone's thoughts on the two-handed swing fake at Holtby last night by Peverley? There's definitely room in the game for intimidation, but I think that's over the line, to take a two handed baseball type swing at a goaltender and stop just before hitting him. 0:29 in the video:

I think it was a little girl move. But it's hockey, nothing is over the line (except for a guys children). Fake stick swing didn't seem to bother Holtby, so it probably had the opposite intention from intimidation. Somewhere between pathetic and laughable (from a caps point of view).

Holtby is a ******* machine, and we'd have been out games ago without him.

Left an empty bottle of Sam Adams Boston Lager on a coworker's desk with a red bow this morning. :cross:

Saw this on another site, i LOL'd.

But is it something that warrants an unsportsmanlike conduct? I'm all about the physical play, dominating your opponenet, etc, but crap like that is a step down from what McSorley did to Brashear...make contact, and it's on the same level. You want to get in someone's face or give a face wash, by all means, go for it, I just think that kind of crap is stupid and unnecessary.

I enjoyed watching Holtby play when I saw him at Bear's games. There's been some great rilvaries in Hershey's building over the last 10-15 years.

Got the Reading Royals (ECHL) even closer than Hershey...cool to see guys like Quick go from the basement of professional hockey leagues to Vezina Finalist.

So after you're shoved face first into the ice from behind, charades is over the line? Be serious. It was actually a great show of restraint.

It was a b*tch move, hence the purse gif. If you have something to say, say it and drop the gloves. Not often does a goaltender scrap with a skater, but they were battling and acting like you're going to swing your stick and hit someone is just silly and makes you look like an ass.

That's fine, but even mentioning it in the sentence with McSorley/Brashear is crazy talk. Plus now you add intent, maybe he was actually going to two hand him and pulled back. Or maybe he was just being a dick like Avery/Brodeur.

No one really knows...

When you take a two handed swing at someone, and stop, you're in the same league as McSorely until you pull back. I think the whole thing is asinine and has no place in the game. Look where Avery's antics got him.

You people are a bunch of pansies. It was no big deal. I thought it was funny how Holtby stared at him with his arms crossed. He didn't even flinch.

Two Game 7s tonight...awesome! And what will result based on tonight's games:

If Rangers and Panthers win...
1. Rangers vs. 7. Capitals
3. Panthers vs. 5. Flyers

If Rangers and Devils win...
1. Rangers vs. 7. Capitals
5. Flyers vs. 6. Devils

If Senators and Panthers win...
3. Panthers vs. 8. Senators
5. Flyers vs. 7. Capitals

If Senators and Devils win...
5. Flyers vs. 8. Senators
6. Devils vs. 7. Capitals

Referring to Lord Stanley as scraps?

Man-o-man, that's the worst case of sour grapes ever...

Pretty much expected from a Wings fan, Bandwagon Town USA.

I knew that would bring out your standard copy/paste response, Revvy.

That sums it up nicely.

Jealousy isn't pretty. Besides I think Pittsburgh has been Bandwagon Town USA for several years now.

Just flipped on the news and heard some of the racist s--t that people have been saying about Ward on twitter & fb.

Hella lame.

First and foremost... the amount of cheating the Caps had to go through in order to beat a dominant team like the B's is mind-numbing... just brutal.

Nah.. kidding... I can't really put into words how much I effin' hated the Canucks last year and how bad I wanted the B's to beat them. The Caps? I tried... wanted to hate 'em but you couldn't. They played a really solid series. I didn't lose respect for them every nine seconds like I did the Canucks and, in the end, they deserved to win. Hat's off to 'em.

The Peverly thing? Yeah... that was... just... I dunno... effin wierd. That said, I think putting in the same sentence with McSorley is likely the result of someone having a big bowl of Retarded Flakes for breakfast. McSorley ended up in criminal court and had his professional career essentially ended after he could have killed a guy. Perverly had a goalie laugh at him for being a putz after he never even made contact.

Yeah... I see the similarities there.

The racist tweets... that's pathetic and ridiculous. Unfortunately everywhere has its share of morons and Boston and Mass are, unfortunately again, in the same boat.

Oh... and freakin' Holtby was nuts...

I was waiting for Nancy Kerrigan to jump out and get revenge by slamming someone else in the knee with a crow bar in order to help the B's out.

... but she never did. Thanks Nancy... you whore.

That's Canada for you, when it comes to criminal investigations and charges from actions in a game. Chara was investigated for hitting someone into a stanchion. Silly Canadians.
