I'm currently fermenting my first ipa. It was a 3 hop addition boil of cascade(first),columbus(30 min), and centennial at the end. I'm going to move it over to a secondary fermenter in the next couple days and I am wondering if there are certain hops that can't be mixed.

Hops I have are:
  • 1.5 oz cascade pellets
  • 3 oz galaxy pellets
  • 3 oz el dorado pellets
  • 1 oz citra whole

I've heard really great things about the galaxy and the el dorado but there flavor profiles are kind of different... Please help!

Anything can be mixed, some combos are just better suited than others. I really like galaxy and citra together from what you listed.

Okay thanks for your help! Do you have any suggestions on how much? I have never done an ipa before and I don't wanna over hop it...

Mix away! If this is a 5 gallon batch i usually use anywhere from 1 oz of each to 3 ozs total but its pretty much up to you. Dryhopping will only affect the aroma so dont be shy. It only affects the taste if you leave the hops in there for too long. A grassy taste will occur.

Spot on. If you shoot for 7-10 days you will be fine. They say that too much longer will give the grassy taste.
