I dunno if this is worth trying or not; A couple years ago I started doing that constant waking up to pee and I found that a huge dose of cinnamon in the evening lessened it, so I'd occasionally do a cup of cocoa, heavily dosed with it.. I'm struggling to think of what tumeric would be good in..maybe throw together some vegetable thing in a blender with tomato-juice or something and have it for lunch? Let me know what you come up with..I have inflammatory issues myself, but I usually do high amounts of cayenne in whatever meals I have to help. I think I'll try and find something that works with tumeric because it's been suggested to me as well..I'll let you know if I come up with anything decent.

Surgical removal scheduled in January with a highly skilled and experienced experienced surgeon who specializes in robotic micro surgeries. After exploring all the options available, this was the best course. Yet to be determined is how it will affect beer brewing, and of course, consumption, post procedure. Fingers crossed .

As far as turmeric goes, either add it to food or take a capsule. It just doesn't sound good in coffee.

Don’t buy apple cider without reading the whole label!

I had a batch of cider ready to keg. I hit it with sorbate about 10 days ago and decided to keg it this morning. At kegging I backsweetened it with some cider I just bought at the supermarket. Because I’m using it for backsweetening after sorbates I don’t care if it has preservatives or whatever.

So after I add it and rack it and get it kegged I taste a little sample and thought “why does this taste like vanilla?” So now I have 3 gallons of Sea Salt Carmel cider. That’s what happens when you’re not paying attention.

Not what I was intending but I guess it will be good for now around Halloween.

Need a jumper to connect your garden hose to your HX? Why? Because you have camlock QDs on your new HX, but you forgot to order another camlock QD for your Steam Slayer, so you need a BQLD-BQLD jumper hose to connect both things up with the QD parts on hand.

Have a piece of thick wall (1/2” I.d., 3/4” o.d.) silicone tubing lying around that seems like it would be perfect?

(DON’T) Make your jumper out of that!

Next, walk the 50’ to the corner of the basement where the garden hose connects to the bib and turn it on.
Wait to hear that the water is flowing through the HX and back to the sump and check that the sump pump is operating correctly.

Now, slowly walk back the 50’ to your new brewing area.

Notice, but not quite comprehend, that the silicone tubing is looking a lot like a ballon as the carnival clown slowly inflates it, prior to twisting it into a silly animal hat for your young child.

Realize what is ACTUALLY HAPPENING and RACE the 50’ back to shut off the hose bib, only to hear a LOUD BANG at the 45’ mark. Said “BANG” being loud enough for the spousal unit to hear through closed doors and come racing down the stairs to make sure you’re OK.

Lol been there, done that. Forgot to open a valve on a plate chiller. I had 10’ of 1/2” heavy wall silicone tubing turn into an anaconda under city water pressure before exploding gallons of cold water into my bar brewery. After I got the water shut off all I could do was stand there in disbelief drenched from head to toe. You’re absolutely right. Don’t Do That!

I've ballooned a couple of lengths of 1/8" wall 1/2" ID silicone hose but caught my valving mistakes before they reached their burst point, fortunately. I can imagine the resulting havoc though Sadly the stretch causes a permanent weakness so I had to replace both lengths before brewing again. Fortunately @Bobby_M sells "odor free" silicone tubing and his shop is only a couple shipping days away...

I’ve got two words to say: “cam locks.”

Never had a blow out, hot side, cold side, beer, wine, high flow rate pumps, etc.

Mechanics + alchemy + pressure = magic.

I even use them on our waste system macerator pump on an RV. If you have a blowout with that messy chore (either RV or boat) you’ll search for an absolutely bulletproof system. You don’t want to hear the story. But the solution is cam locks.

To clarify, both ballooning instances were caused when rinsing out pumps and lines using faucet pressure and closing a valve with the water still running.
"Don't do that".

I can run my March 815s into fully closed valves forever without ballooning even hot tubing. Mag pumps don't provide much pressure...

Indeed. Part of my delay has been a reluctance to just hook up to the barbs. That seems to be a well-founded fear as confirmed by the reports here.
I also added a hydraulic lift cart to the process that virtually eliminates the need for a pump; gravity does the trick.
It is also true that an upsizing of my equipment meant that it was pointless to mount the pump on my old, undersized stand.
Finally, I am thinking about trying BIAB to see how that works for me. I could use the pump to fill the fermenter, but it’s just as easy to slide the boil kettle over onto the lift cart, raise, and just drain it.

I have a 3-way valve from Bobby; https://www.brewhardware.com/product_p/3wvalvel.htm on the output of my pump to switch between recirc and out to the fermenter without having to move anything heavy. Works a treat.

I recently rearranged my brewing area footprint and and moved my two unitanks to a table. They've been sealed since the last brew was transfered and they both needed cleaning but I needed some longer tubing and a fitting and was unable to get to it in a timely manner. I have the tubing now so last night I heated up a full keggle of water in my HLT. I thought about adding the PBW to the HLT but decided on putting the PBW right into the fermenter through a top TC port. Measured out a full scoop and tried to carefully pour it in. Since the port is now above eye level, I started to get spillage since the valve was closed and I couldn't see. Duh. It's a butterfly valve so I thought, hey the diaphram might push more out, go slow. Cracked open the valve and it was suddenly snowing as the PBW was blown out by the residual pressure.

Ok I depressurized the second one and put in the PBW without incident. My HLT sight gauge runs from 4-13. I added about 14 gallons though and transferred about 6+ gallons through the racking port and turned off the pump. I didn't want to open the 4" TC clamp so I couldn't tell exactly how much water I added. Closed the unitank valve, switched the hoses to the second tank. Started transferring and realized my gauge starts at 4 gallons. I was on 8 when I started so I didn't want to overflow and when it occurred to me that I needed to estimate I stopped the pump then turned off the element. I look in the HLT and see the water is exposing the element. The water is also golden brown. I start wondering if I had dry fired the element as it looks sort of brownish. Maybe the coating baked off?? There's residues on the HERMS coil too and flakes in the bottom. It can't have been but tens of seconds based on the element just showing...oh no the element is only half way exposed? Huh? No wait the water is covering it now? Shoot! Forgot to close a valve, any valve, and the water was gravity transferring backwards. Last brew was a NEIPA so the fermenter had a lot of residue so now I have to clean the HLT too plus I was using the water side pump which I will need to clean as well.
