Get your pup, post a pic & tell us something about the pup. You don't want to name a mastiff something like cuddles. I think a dog name should reflect something about the dog; breed, personality, physical traits, etc...
Some dogs have a mask, so the name "Bandit" might be in order; some dogs have LOTS of fur, so the name "Harry" might be in order. I knew a guy years ago who found a dog in the K-Mart parking lot, so he named the dog K-Mart, yes really.
Some names of dogs I've had over the years are: Andy, Brandy, Happy, Kip, Jazz, and Barry. Each name meant something and/or had a story behind it that was related to the dog. Some people like humorous and/or ironic names for their dogs. I met a guy once who had a dog named "Cat." Yes, really. There was a guy in Australia years ago who named his slightly ugly dog "Fugly." Or a former coworker's tiny little teacup yorkie named "Fang," she even had a spiked collar for Fang.
Looking forward to seeing pics of your new pup.
Regards, GF.
