Whatever it is, try it out by screaming it in this sentence: "G%#&@!IT, ________!!! STOP THAT!!! GET OUT OF THERE!!"

You don't want to be shouting Trickie-Woo or Snuggles or something like that.

Carbonic, cronic, airlock, o-fock ( from open valve when racking to fermenter), SAARS- or is that Saaz? A few years back we adopted an un named Doberman female; we named her Heidi but I think Octoberfest would have been a great name too.

Our big guy was going to be called "Digger" UNFORTUNATELY the Mother-in-law's Jamaican caregiver thought we were saying something beginning with "N...." - yeah, we changed his name immediately after that... LUCKILY he was young enough he could take the name change easily

NOW, he's "Digby" (and yeah, we do feed him... honest!)

When are you getting the pup?

Not sure. We've been talking about it for a little while, just now doing some research. I've had labs and grew up around German Sheppard's. Very different breeds I know. Not in any real rush. I miss having a dog around the house.

I too love German Sheppards, but my family has lost too many family members to hip dysplasia. Many years ago I lost my Dobie girl Brandy to cancer; my wife of 5 years knew how much it still hurt from over a decade ago. Without me knowing, my loving and terrific wife sent a request to the local Humane Society requesting a possible adoption of a female Dobie between 1-1/2 and 3 years of age. I don't know how many months passed but one day my wife received an email saying there was a adoptable Dobie. There was no information on our Heidi Girl as she was picked up as a stray, but by the end of the first day when we said, "Heidi, come here", she did. She is the doggy light of my life, and certainly an answer to my wife's prayers. To be perfectly honest, my wife is an answered prayer too.

Get your pup, post a pic & tell us something about the pup. You don't want to name a mastiff something like cuddles. I think a dog name should reflect something about the dog; breed, personality, physical traits, etc...

Some dogs have a mask, so the name "Bandit" might be in order; some dogs have LOTS of fur, so the name "Harry" might be in order. I knew a guy years ago who found a dog in the K-Mart parking lot, so he named the dog K-Mart, yes really.

Some names of dogs I've had over the years are: Andy, Brandy, Happy, Kip, Jazz, and Barry. Each name meant something and/or had a story behind it that was related to the dog. Some people like humorous and/or ironic names for their dogs. I met a guy once who had a dog named "Cat." Yes, really. There was a guy in Australia years ago who named his slightly ugly dog "Fugly." Or a former coworker's tiny little teacup yorkie named "Fang," she even had a spiked collar for Fang.

Looking forward to seeing pics of your new pup.
Regards, GF.

I've always wanted to name a dog "Burp", but gets rejected by the family each time. I guess Burp could be considered a beer name...

In high school I had a white German Shepard named Patchouli, and a black cat named Wicca.
