I found these little ones last week while mowing the backyard. Luckily I saw them before any damage was done. We covered their hole with some cardboard and let them be, keeping an eye out for mom to come back. Far as we could tell she was as they were only getting bigger by the day. Today my wife heard a noise out back and saw them running around the yard (we're assuming the noise was a bird finding the third one unfortunately). She tried her best to get them back into their den but to no avail. They just ran around in the open and kept getting stuck in the worst possible places, easy to find if you're one of the dozens of hawks in our neighborhood. After some research we found that at their age, and now that they've left the den, mom isn't going to come back so here we are. She spent the morning learning about rabbit rehabilitation and we've decided to do what we can until we find a solution for what to do with them. Eastern Cottontail babies around 14-21 days.
In the meantime, while they're indistinguishable from each other apart from a slight size difference, we're going to do the one thing you shouldn't do in this situation and name them. We were thinking of naming them after hops because well...yeah. So what should we name them?
Also if you have experience with rabbits any tips would be helpful.
