Ok, I ordered a BB German Oktoberfest and didn't realize that it was a lager until I was ready to start brewing. The instructions say that I can either do the kit as a lager or an ale, as the yeast will work for both. Well I went ahead and started the fermentation in in my wine cellar, which is about 58 degrees (f), but I have never done a lager before, so I guess my question is, what will be the major differences in the finished product going one way or the other?
I have a fridge in the basement that I can warm up to lagering temps, but wifey ain't gonna be happy as she uses it quite often.
Any suggestions appreciated.
