So I'm pretty sure what I thought was an infection in my last two batches are just chlorophenols. The beer has gotten worse and worse since bottling. Will those flavors drop out over time or should I just pull off the band aid and dump them?:(

Lesson learned - treat tap water for chlorine.

Unfortunately chlorophenols don't go away with time and there isn't anything to do to fix them after they're formed. As you said, campden tablets are cheap and fix the issue in the future. I say, in this case, dump it.

I just dumped fifteen gallons of various sour ales due to this. They ranged from 6 months to 2 years old. It doesn't go away.

Like scott said, unfortunately not.

Chlorophenols are formed from a recation between chlorine and polyphenols.

Next time use an RV filter on the end of your spigot to remove chlorines

Did you not taste the 2year before aging?
