Please help me understand how to use a digital temp control with my beverage center.

I know the purpose as I use a digital temp control with a chest freezer to control the temp. Set the chest freezer temp as low as possible. Plug the chest freezer into the digital temp control, put digital control's temp probe into the check freezer and use the digital temp control to actually control the temp.

Now, my beverage center. When the electric power is interrupted, even briefly, the beverage center resets itself to 54F. Not good!

I don't believe using a digital temp control with the beverage center is as easy as with a chest freezer. If I plug the beverage center into the digital temp control, place the temp probe inside the beverage center and set the digital temp control to, say, 45F, if the power goes out the beverage center compressor will stop calling for power when the temp is near 54F. Is this correct?

I'm attaching a schematic of the beverage center if I need to cut some wires to make the digital temp control work with the beverage center.

Thanks.

I've seen people get around built in thermostats by putting a little lightbulb right next to the sensor. It looks like yours has 2 sensors, but it isn't clear if they are both in the cooling chamber. Either way, you have to wonder who the idiot was that thought 54F should be the default.
