Hydrated pack of Notty per instruction on pack,except I stirred it up immediately insted of waiting 15 minutes. Really a big deal or not?
 
I usually stir dry yeast right away. Notty, Safale, jacks etc... Never had an issue. Takes off in normal expected time every time.

Thanks, didn't read that part about stirring until I already had. It says it can burst cell walls. Soo.... I don't have a microscope.lol
 
You can skip hydration completely and just pitch the yeast directly into the wort with similar results. Hydration isn't necessary.
Yep, but I wanted to get healthy yeast with only one pack knotty in 5.5 gallons 1.057 wort?
