Generally I use this time to travel. I haven't been home for Thanksgiving in ages. This year, my options were to travel two hours-ish east to Stamford (CT) or two hours south to the AC area. I stayed here. I'm happy with my decision. Avoiding all the nonsense (traffic, pleasantries, etc) can be a beautiful thing, even if people think you are odd and antisocial (yes) for not going somewhere.

Doing great. We usually head to my wife's grandmothers place for dinner. No booze, lotsa football watching and people we can't stand. We always dread going, so this year we decided to stay home. It's was a wise decision.
