working on thanksgiving

no turkey today for me ,

but at least theres holiday pay!

working tomorow also.

we are doing thanksgiving saterday when i will pretend its thursday and none of this ever happened.. i would watch the parade on replay but its pouring in new york today and the parade looks soggy and uncomfortable.

and happy thanksgiving also to anyone out there who has to keep the world going for the rest of the people who have the day off.

sorry just jealous and bored its a very slow day here.

Not any more, but I used to. Fortunately family would have dinners different day so we could all be together. I was grateful for that.

I’ve done it both ways, although I’m currently on a 5 day weekend. Some places have to be open. I appreciate the folks who do it.

I'm just finishing up my week-long on-call stint. With the current rotation, I alternate Christmas or Thanksgiving. No traveling to family, no alcohols, and be ready to drop everything within 10 minutes. All for $1/hr and the promise of continued employment.

Luckily a job doesn't stand in my way anymore. When I was part of the working world most holidays meant mill shutdowns, 12+ hours every day for a week or more. Glad those days are in my past now.
