Thanks so much for so much helpful information here!
I am about to begin my very first batch of mead tomorrow (your 1 gallon BOMM recipe, and perhaps the other gallon will be the BOMM/Joe's ancient Orange hybrid recipe). I'm very excited to give it a try. It's been great to have good info from the get-go.

I'm wondering why it's 10g of dry yeast for 1 gallon but only 20g of dry yeast 5 gallons. It's not proportional.
