Alright,

As some of you know, I don't like CT very much. (Sorry Mom and quirk6). I will be visiting my Mom at her new place in the Plainville and New Britain border and I would love to hear some recommendations on a 30 min radius. More than happy to meet with some of you and talk about why you hate your regional teams so much.

Cheers!

What's wrong with CT? It can't be because most people here drive like ******** because that's also true in Mass.

Who's going to the OEC anny Saturday? Won't be able to go super early, but does anyone have an idea what time is late enough to get there for bottles based on the last few larger events?

I'll be there and take a stab at this for ya.

Been to most of the big releases (Experimentalis, Anniversary, etc) the last few years and they range from being totally jammed by 9 AM (exp with Raspberry in November comes to mind) to moderate. That Vindemia Rossa sounds absolutely obscene and with the 150 or so vintage bottles in play I'd expect a solid early rising crowd for this. The weather will be a factor as well. But, I've found if you get there before 9:30 you are usually ok, and sometimes the allotment makes it a little past 10 AM. But every release is different so use your best judgement.

Anybody ever been to Little River Restoratives in Hartford? The name makes it sound a little hipsterish, but it sounds pretty good.

Awesome, I was planning on hitting up OEC this Saturday as well. It's my first time back in CT in a while and first time going to OEC so thanks for this pretty solid run-down. I was planning on getting there as close to 9AM as possible, it'd be cool to link up with some CT TB'ers if anyone is interested.

I wouldn't be able to get there before 3:30 or 4 so I wouldn't be able to get any bottles. Might go for the drafts anyway.

Broad Brook collab w/ Cigar City o_O
At the beginning of 2016, we promised you some surprises and we are ready to share our biggest one yet... We have teamed up with Cigar City Brewing to bring you our first ever collaboration beer: Made in the Shade IPA! Our head brewer Tom has been hard at work creating the recipe with Cigar City's brewmaster Wayne Wambles.

Wayne will be traveling to East Windsor soon to brew with Tom. Over the following weeks, the beer will be conditioned for release right before July 4th weekend! Made in the Shade is an American IPA utilizing fresh oranges and grapefruit to create a refreshing citrus explosion that is generously hopped with Mandarina Bavaria, Citra, and Pacific Jade. Our newest brew will be packaged in 4-packs of 16oz cans, available at package stores throughout Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. Additionally, we will have it on tap at the brewery.

How did Made in the Shade IPA come to be? The locales of Cigar City Brewing and Broad Brook Brewing share an unlikely historical connection: cigars. Tampa is known as the “Cigar City” due to its infamous storied history of producing cigars, and the Connecticut River Valley is home to Shade Tobacco. Since the 1800’s, this premium leaf that produces some of the world’s highest quality cigars has been made underneath shaded tents, hence the name.

Anyone in the area interested in splitting a box from TrappistWorld (or a better online lambic source)? I'm debating it and my friend might not be interested right now.
