Plan to brew a Cold Smoke Scotch ale clone on Monday. I have never actually drank it before but everyone from Montana seems to love the stuff, so thought I would give it a try.

Any thoughts on Nottingham vs. S-33 (or any other yeast). Would prefer to stick with dry yeast.
OG 1.067

target FG b/w .008 and .012

Thanks and Adios

We Montanan's love our alcohol...lol.
anyway you can post the recipe?

I've used both the Edinburgh yeast (WY1728/WL028) and US-05 in my Scottish ales. Very similar results, so if you really want to use a dry yeast, try the US-05.

Care to post the recipe?

I put together a partial mash from this thread on beer smith:
https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f14/kettlehouse-cold-smoke-scotch-ale-recipe-259668/

3 lbs 4 oz 2 row
6 lbs light LME
6 oz brown sugar ( in boil)
5.2 oz Caramel 120
3.3 oz Black patent
1.5 oz roasted barley
.25 oz Tomahawk for 120 minutes
.5 oz Goldings at Flameout

IBu 10.5
OG: 1.066
Srm: 19.8

Like I hinted at earlier, I have no idea how this will turn out. Eyeballing it, I'm afraid it will not have enough bitterness to it, and be to sweet. But hell, what do I know. Those guys are selling a lot of beer.
