So tonight I wanted a beer, but I go to see there are non cold in the fridge. So I grab 6 and put them in the fridge and grab another and put that one in the freezer to chill it fast so i can drink it.
I then go back to what I was doing and forget about the beer in the freezer for about an hour. I then take it out and open it, it's not frozen but very very cold. I take a drink and it's awful. I can't describe it as I don't think I've every tasted something like this before. I then set it out and it warms up to probably about 40-45* and it tastes great.

Point: I never knew how important serving temp was. Too cold and tastes like ****, to warm and well the same thing.

Yeah--serving temp is really critical, and the optimal temp can be quite different for different styles.

One of the reasons I don't drink in bars all that much is that craft/micro beers are consistently served way too cold.

Really, BMC is the only beer I know of that tastes it's best crackling cold.

I put a beer in the freezer once, forgot it, and it froze. It was a Sam Adams Cherry Wheat. When I opened it, I poured it out ice and all, went ahead and started drinking it. It tasted like a malty cherry icee, interesting but I can't say i would do it on purpose again.

lighter beers are usually better cold, and bmc must be served cold unless you want to gag, or you're shotgunning them (haven't done that in a while, lol)

i try to stick most my beers in the fridge and pull them out after a half-hour. i really need to get a seperate fridge so i can keep them at about 55 instead of chilling them at 40. i like my wheat beers nice and cold, tho.

have you seen the commercials for coors? they made it so the label changes to blue when it's "cold enough"

yeah I agree that most beers should be served warmer but I like my hefe at "bmc" temps

Many times I'll ask the server to put the beer in a microwave for 30 secs before bringing it to me.

I hardly ever refregerate my Hefe Weizens. At most I'll do about 10 mins in the freezer to get a slight chill on it. Depends on the outside temp and if I'm working in the sun, etc.

I was at a Cardinals game last week (where we were trounced by the Reds, but I digress). While roaming the stadium I walked past a vending station that had a cooler which proudly displayed the fact that their crappy beer was being served at 22°. I assume they mean Fahrenheit :p
