Hi im just wondering if there anybody has any tips or tricks on cleaning the glass carboy and does it have to be dry before using?

Oxyclean and hot water, then I usually pour a few cups of star san in there and shake the hell out of it. I have even stored star san in the carboy with tin foil and a rubberband on top. When I needed the carboy, give it a good swirl... and good to go.

Be VERY careful when washing it. We do not want another broken carboy injury thread.

Soak in PBW or oxyclean overnight, then a good rinse and maybe a carboy brush. Not too difficult.

Sanitize with Starsan and do not let the Starsan solution dry. If it dries it is no longer sanitary.

depending on the hardness of your water and probably some other factors like the purity of your oxyclean and whether your PBW is homemade with cheap oxy, overnight can be too long.

I have this problem with DIY PBW i made with up-and-up brand oxygen cleaner and red devil tsp/90 where if i leave it overnight i get a mineral crust on the bottom of whatever i left it in. Which is hard to scrub off.

A weak acid should remove the residue.
