Tasting Notes
Coffee/Chocolate/Caramel *See Notes
So I usually get my recipes from this site or reddit, and after 3 years of brewing, I finally started trying to make my own recipes. This is the first one I made on my own, it's a Foreign Extra Stout.

I entered it into my first beer competition in CT, got first place! My palate isn't that great, but after some age the beer has a mix of coffee/chocolate/roast/caramel flavor, with the oats providing a smooth creamy mouthfeel. I'll post what the judges tasting sheets said when I get a chance.

Brewhouse Efficiency: 80%

Grainbill:
66.7 % - 10.00 lb Maris Otter
6.7% - 1 lb DME
6.7% - 1.00 lb Chocolate Malt (412°L)
6.7% - 1.00 lb flaked oats
3.3 % - 0.50 lb Pale Chocolate Malt (250°L)
3.3 % - 0.50 Briess roast barley malt (300 °L)
3.3 % - 0.50 lb Special B
3.3 % - 0.50 lb Crystal 80

Hops:
1.25 oz Nugget pellet hops (60 min.)
0.75 oz Nugget pellet hops (45 min.)
1 oz Willamette pellet hops (30 min.)
1 oz Willamette pellet hops (1 min.)

Other:
2.00 oz oak

Mash @ 150° for 90 minutes. Add nugget, in 15 minutes add nugget, in 15 minutes add willamette, in 15 minutes add DME, in 14 minutes add willamette, wait 1 minute. Add oak to fermentation bucket.

Here's a label I made for it if anyone is interested.
