This is the second time I've made this mistake. I bought some close out caps that have some markings on them. Last year I had made a Wit that I used marked caps on. I brought one to my LHBS for feedback. He really liked it and suggested I enter it in a local competition that they were a drop off location for. It was the last day of drop off, and I had these marked caps, so I didn't enter it.

Fast forward to this February. I brewed a stout that I believe is really good. I kegged most of it, but did bottle a 6 pack and a couple bombers. Of course I used caps that have markings on them again. I will only use these if I am bottling from the keg to take somewhere moving forward.

Do you think I could remove the cap and re-cap real quick without loosing too much carbonation so I can enter these in a competition? I carbed them using 1 domino sugar cube.

Do it!
Some may argue over potential oxidation risk, but it should be negligible if the beer is poured within a few days. I'd consider really chilling them down first to keep co2 in solution longer.

Try and use little my little pony stickers and tell them this is my kids favorite beer. Since I started making this, we have saved hundreds of dollars in baby formula.

All should be fine. ;)

Over here competition only requires two bottles of anything entered. Try a little steel wool or sand paper. Shouldn't be hard to remove any marks.

+1 on a sharpie. Makes it look like a solid black cap. Most competitions will allow solid colored caps even though silver or gold are preferred.
