Ingredients:
4 lbs Golden Promise (Simpsons) (2.0 SRM) 36.9%
4 lbs Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM) 36.9 %
2 lbs Vienna Malt (3.5 SRM) 18.4 %
8.0 oz Caramel Malt - 10L (Briess) (10.0 SRM) 4.6 %
5.6 oz Cara-Pils/Dextrine (I had some left over and needed to use it) (2.0 SRM) 3.2 %
0.50 oz Magnum [12.60 %] - First Wort
1.00 oz Cascade [6.30 %] - Boil 5.0 min
2.00 oz Cascade [6.30 %] - Boil 0.0 min with 15 minute hot steep
2.00 oz Cascade [6.30 %] - Steep/Whirlpool 30.0 min steep at 160F or colder
1.0 pkg American Ale II (Wyeast Labs #1272) from starter
1.00 oz Cascade [6.30 %] - Dry Hop 5.0 Days (after primary fermentation subsides)
Hit my numbers right on and for a 5.5 gallon batch got OG of 1.053
Mashed at 152 for 60 mins and the pH was 5.38. (RO water adjusted to a pH of 5.57 before dough-in.)
Added 1/4 tsp Gypsum and 1 tsp CaCl2 to the mash.
It was a great brew day and its always nice to hit your numbers so I thought I'd share.
