I have a recipe calling for 8 oz of Weyermanns CaraAroma malt, and BeerSmith is telling me it is similar to a crystal 120. My LHBS doesn't have any crystal above 90, or CaraAroma.
This may be obvious, but can I simply add more Crystal 90 to achieve the dark color?

It's for a Dunkel, so I definitely want that darkness :cross:

120l is not going to work so well. Great Western 150L tastes close. Caraaroma has the dark fruit of 120L but it's very muted with a hint of roast and not near as sweet. The 150 is a bit more on the roast.

I agree, caraaroma has a nice subtle flavor compared to the super strong raisin that special b brings. Might be good in a dunkel if you're into that.
