I dont mean together. I mean can you take a recipe that you normally use ale yeast with and replace it with a lager?

What are the results?

I want to take an extract kit designed for an american pale ale but pitch lager yeast and load it up in my fridge at 50 degrees for the winter. Has anyone done this? Am I missing a key piece of information that makes this unfriendly? OR is this commonplace and instead of an american pale ale its an american pale lager....? thanks

You can do this. I don't know if there are any recipes where you couldn't just change the yeast type, accepting that the beer won't taste the same. It still should taste good.
