Probably not exactly the right forum for this, but does anyone know how the older anniversary beers are drinking these days? I have a Cuir that I'm thinking of bringing to a friend's bachelor party this weekend.

Haven't had a Cuir recently but did have a Coton in May and it was not that good at all. I never had it fresh, so I can't speak to how it has changed, or if that's just what it was like.

Last I recall, BA Coton and BA Cuir were both holding up better than their 25/75 counterparts, although Cuir was definitely better than Coton. It's been six or seven months though so not sure where they are right now.

Yeah, only going with the regular version, unfortunately. I haven't been huge into the anniversary beers, but it'll be interesting to try one with three years on it.

At the very least, it will be solidly drinkable (as long as you haven't stored it at 85* or something). I wouldn't go in expecting a transcendent experience but it probably won't be a dud.

I had BA Cuir at some point this summer and I thought it was very, very good. I think a lot of the recent BA ratings are in like with that opinion too.

I always liked the regular cuir, so I'm thinking it's probably pretty tasty right now too.

I had it on Sunday at the tasting room. I liked it. Nothing overly spectacular but good. I bought all 4 of the allocation

Totally agree. Good, but not particularly memorable. Befuddlement, on the other hand, is outstanding. I was really blown away by it. The anniversary ale really helps add body and a "stickyness" for the jammy boysenberries to coat your palate. Dry and super drinkable.

how sour would you say befuddlement is

Barely. At least as I judge it. From someone who has just gotten in to sours in the last few months, its a hint of sitr, a ton more boysenberry, and that sticky jammy feeling Heatwaves is talking about.

I had the same thoughts. Some Bruery beers, like Oude Tart w/ Cherries, are complete sour bombs. Others have a lot of acetic qualities. I thought this was lightly tart and I didn't get any vinegar notes. Reminded me of a richer, more full-bodied Bottleworks XII.

You are an *******. And by an *******, I mean thanks for making me salivate with your description. I just went from "meh, ill try 1 just for *****" to "max allocation immediately!"

had a sip of befuddlement at sante on Sunday thanks to bird22 -- honestly much better than I expected. I am not likely to re-up my RS subscription unless I get a hoarders invite, in which case I hope to get ALL the befuddlement.

This is the Bruery, everyone knows everything at exactly the same time. If they announce one, it'll get posted here within minutes.
First year in the society, wasn't sure if there was a cadence set for cellar sales. Judging from your response, I would say not.

I would guess if they're going to do another one, it'll be in the next month, month and a half to test the website for the public Black Tuesday sale.

I think they showed last year they make more than enough. Website crashed with the initial rush but it took 10 hours to sell out.

Happy September Society Members! Due to today being a holiday, this month's allocation email will be arriving to your inbox one week from today. We hope everybody out there is enjoying a favorite craft beer today.

Wait.. what? I mean, I could understand "It'll be in your inbox first thing tomorrow morning!", but this screams of something being wrong with some beer(s) and they're trying to figure out a good way to spin it.
