Looking back on these quotes with all the recent posts about chemman14 selling beers on Facebook.. yeesh

I get it, you enjoy controversy and the attention you've garnered on this site by calling people touchy or babies or whatever, that's fine, it's the internet. But I really hope you don't sell a bottle made for charity. Not sure how you would justify that one. Not saying that you're planning to, but it almost seems like a self-fulfilling prophecy at this point

Also, why would I sell bottles/tickets for something that I donated beer to? You people are too ******* easy.... come on.

no, he's just gonna get kicked out and then blame it on Pierre Tilquin for being a dick or something, and then swear off all Tilquin until the end of time, while selling all of his remaining bottles.
You people sure do worry a lot about others. Do you plan on charging rent for the space I take up in your head?

Live oak? Really? Hefe is a lager... but... lol
air, can you help out?
Digita7693 can we get kegs in from Texas? I'll call a few favors. Lol.
I'm already working on a trillium keg for vip
Happy to help out however I can :)

But yeah yall should totally find a way to get kegs out there

I find this confusing.
Live oak is known for their hefe, not the pils.
Pils is a lager, as is hefe. And i had been drinking.

But either way. If the pils thing happens, i can at the least get some growlers. Keg if needed, but im guessing it wont be.

I was thinking about all the locals who missed out on tickets and had an idea - is there a possibility to have a volunteer lotto of sorts? like sign up to volunteer for a morning with New Avenues and by doing so you get entered into a lottery for the chance to buy a VIP ticket? maybe make 3-5 tickets or so available depending on the volunteer slot needs are between now and the event? a great way to make tickets available for the PDXers who missed out and give a hand to New Avenues at the source. could also help to get volunteers for the upcoming RYE festival in Portland.

First off, thanks for the suggestion and to everyone for your support - we could not do it without all of you and your wonderful enthusiasm toward New Avenues for Youth! We are humbled with the near instant sellout for the VIP events, and understand there are a lot of people who want to attend VIP but were shut out.

The first issue we have is that there is literally not enough space. The fire capacity of the room where VIP is held is 200 people, including volunteers, staff, etc., and we are already very close to that number. Beyond that, among other things, we have single kegs that will be limited to one pour per VIP attendee, and with every extra person potentially added, that degrades the experience for those who already have tickets.

box_social, we appreciate your suggestion, and we will consider it and any other creative ideas on how to distribute tickets for future events. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that any more tickets will be released or sold for VIP this year. Given the quick sell-out, we are going to have a serious discussion about how to handle future events and potential expansion, while maintaining the comfort level and quality people have come to expect from us.

For this year, we are focusing on making GA better than ever. For starters, this means more, higher quality kegs and a larger silent auction during GA. Those tickets go on sale June 15th at noon Pacific, are $10 through June 22nd, and $15 after that.

Again, thanks to everyone for the fantastic support, and we hope to see you in August!

Maybe make a certain number of tickets available for purchase in person the day before opening up online sales? I don't know, that would help take care of locals I guess but I don't even know if that's a priority or not?

Thanks for the suggestion. At this point, we could easily sell out VIP just by making tickets available to locals and past supporters/VIP attendees. Of course, we highly value the local support and the event would not be what it is today without that support, but in the interest of fairness, we decided to give everyone an even shot with tickets this year. Obviously, the word is out well beyond Portland, and your suggestion, along with box_social's and others will be considered when we decide how to distribute tickets for next year and beyond.

One of our main purposes for this event is raising awareness for the cause, and the fact we now have attendees from all over the U.S. and beyond demonstrates significant progress in that direction. How we balance that with making sure locals and people who have supported us in the past aren't shut out from attending is something we take very seriously and will address for future events after great consideration.
