No offense to Ed, but I HATE FedEx. Luckily I can have Ed ship to me at work, that's the only chance I have of ever receiving a package from them FedEx... None have gone missing or been late so far! :)

I will do that. If anyone ever has problems finding anything shoot me a quick email about it, and I will respond as quickly as I can.

Thanks,

Ed
Just placed my first order. Very happy to support BMW. Ed, you might want to list PBW in multiple places. It's hard to find on the site. Under "Equipment/Cleaning & Sanitation," where I looked first you list B-Brite but no PBW. I was afraid you didn't carry it so did a search and found it under "Kegging." Just a heads-up on a potentially confusing categorization.

Take care,
Chad

Just a quick product update. I just added some products to the site. Some highlights, are a couple of new types of NZ hops to try out, a 3000mL flask has been added, and a line cleaning brush for cleaning out your transfer tubing.

Thanks for all of the support,

Ed

You guys are on to something here. Good job on ease of use for the app. I ditto the "common style" with suggested variance in recipe. For most noobs like myself, coming up with a recipe can be daunting. Give us noobs a chance man. LOL. The experts will KNOW what they want changed and can ask specifically for them.

Well, I have some misc. things I need to order and priced everyone out there today. Even my LHBS (no shipping)... guess who was cheapest? Ed. Guess who can also get to me the fastest? Ed. Guess who didnt have some of the items I want in stock? Hrmmm, yah... the one you are thinking of, again...

Thanks Ed for keeping items in stock, and being so competitive.

EDIT: Again, thanks Ed... ;)

Ed - you are the man! Great selection, great prices, and superior service. It is a real pleasure working with you, and we all truly appreciate the flat rate shipping and special sale pricing!

Seems like there's a problem with your cart system. As I'm adding items to my cart, the "My Cart" field at the top (under search bar) shows the correct number of items. However, when I click on "My Cart" I end up with an empty cart (message states you have not added anything to your cart).

The only way I'm able to get items to stay in my cart is if I login to my account first. This occurs on both Mozilla and Chrome.

Not the end of the world but kinda frustrating to have to put my whole order in twice.

Still love ordering from you! great prices, great shipping (Fedex even delivered my last order on a Saturday, no extra charge).

I am no web expert but it sounds like you are having some cookie problems with the site. Delete your cookies and everything should work fine.

Admittedly I should have thought of that first. However, no dice.

I cleared all browsing data (cookies, history, offline files, passwords, etc) then restarted the browser, but I still have the nothing in my cart when I click on it.

My steps:
1. Open Chrome, select clear browsing data, check all boxes. Restart Chrome
2. Open www.brewmasterswarehouse.com
3. Click on "Ingredients"
4. Select anything (I've been doing grains mostly). Click "Add to Cart". Window refreshes and shows "Item has been added to cart" and "My Cart" show appropriate # of items and cost.
5. Click on "My Cart". Cry a little on the inside when I get the "You have not added any products to your cart" message.

Again, not a huge issue. I just have to remember to log in before I start adding things to my cart. Problem is I usually drink a little, sleep a little, and forget a lot between ordering sessions.

I just tried it out and did not have any issues. Be sure to remember when you clear items in Chrome to change the option at the bottom to everything. Otherwise it will only clear a weeks worth of data.

Quick question about the brewbuilder portion of the site. When adding 2 packages of dry yeast to a recipe (for a 10 gallon batch or other high-gravity 5 gallon batch), the site calculates FG way too low. Not really an issue, but I'd say it's a "bug" nonetheless.

Love your site - always speedy shipping and great packaging. Thanks!

It is a bug when adding more than 1 of the same yeasts. It is being worked on but has been tough to fix so far.

Even after clearing everything I still have the same issue. I did find however that it works fine if I click on my cart first, then start go to ingredients and start adding. But if I follow the steps I listed before it happens every time.

If its working for you it might just be me, so please don't put too much time into it. I'll blame Win7 :)

I've had the same problem a few times. It happens with Firefox on both my Mac and XP Pro machines. I usually log in when I shop though, so it hasn't been a problem.

Which actually brings up something I keep forgetting to ask about: does everyone else have to re-login every time they shop? It'd be really nice if our login was stored in a cookie so we don't have to re-enter it every time.

Just got my package!! Woohoo, thanks for the fast shipment and fast response to my question!! :ban:

I did have to log in every time as well. No biggie to me though. :mug:

YMMV

Just a quickie update. We now have over 600 recipes in the Brew Builder database. We are working on getting some sorting tools installed on the website. One of the things we want to have is a sort by rating. The problem we have as of right now we need MORE ratings on the recipes. So please rate some.

Thanks,

Ed

I just tried it out and did not have any issues.

Didn't work for me. I can't successfully get anything into my cart on either firefox or safari on my mac. First time I was ever on the site too, so if there's any cookie problem, it's not on my end.

Might want to consider troubleshooting problems instead of just saying "works for me", you just lost a sale. I'm probably not the first, either.

Please understand that I am a HBS owner not a web developer. I try my best to help people out with issues that they report, but all issues that are not fixed including this one are reported to the web guys. I did not have any problems, but I still reported it to the web guys who have looked into the issue. Any other information you can give me with your system would be appreciated so we can look into it further. The last thing I heard back about this problem was the problem could not be duplicated on any browser. Clearly the web guys will have to look a little deeper into the issue.

Thanks,

Ed

Do you sell gift certificates? If not, are there plans in the works to make this option available? The gift giving season of Christmas is coming up and Gift certificates to homebrew supply stores is always high on my list. I'd hate for you to miss out on some of that action.

Thanks!

I came across a little harsh there, sorry about that. :drunk:

What I meant was that I don't want to mess around with my browser just to buy something, it's easier to just move on to a different site. Multiple folks in this thread have seen the problem but it was fixed by logging into the site. I don't have a login yet, since I haven't gotten that far - the site keeps deleting my cart!

It seems that the site dumps my cart contents as soon as I try to look at the cart or checkout. I notice that this seems to coincide with the site getting redirected from the http (regular) to https (ssl-secured) side. This was on Safari and Firefox on a Mac. I'm not sure how much else I can help, but feel free to PM me if you have any more specific questions.

I have been trying since I was first notified, but have been unable to reproduce this issue. If you could please tell me (specifically) which version of OSX you are using as well as which browser versions (Safari / Firefox) you are running, I will be more than happy to setup a test case.

Any additional information you could provide such as the name of your ISP, your home network configuration (proxy server?) or any additional plugins/toolbars or firewalls you are using would be helpful as well.

I need to determine when (and why) the cookie is being purged from the browser in order to best develop a solution to this issue.

I agree that you shouldn't have to mess with anything in order to use our website. We strive for excellence, which is why this site was developed with strict adherence to all modern web coding standards.

Thanks in advance,

-BMW DEV

No worries. I totally understand where you are coming from and I am very sorry that you had an issue with the site. I am as frustrated by any issues with the site. I simply want it to work properly, but I certainly understand that the web team have had issues trying to get it fixed since they can not duplicate the problem. I do feel confident that this issue will get hammered out, especially if you can get the extra info to help us determine where and why it is happening.

Thanks,

Ed

Ed I just tried it on the three pc's I have at home using firefox and IE on three different operating systems win98, winxp, and vista and its working fine for me. Nothing worse than trying to track down a strange problem like that.

Good Luck
John
