Hi, making a dry hopped funky pale ale.

The target gravity is 1.030, i was planning on pitching brett for 3-4 days then finishing with US-05. Only looking for a little funk.

Because of the low OG, can i pitch my vial directly in the the wort as it will work as a very large starter of sorts?

First time Brett user :)

Thank you!

IME with a solid starter, there will be little to no funk even if used solely. However, if aged it will develop more of the expected funky brett flavors. Initially, I get a lot more fruity esters than sacc.

hmmm. wondering if should not use the US.

Or, what kind of flavor I'll get without a starter. Usually, I wouldn't question it, but I'm targeting the OG so low.

Could be a fun experiment for you, I say go for the brett, then bottle and squirrel a few away for various amounts of time :ban:
