hi there,

i use those two litre plastic bottles for bottling my brews in. the shop near me sell them cheap with water in.
for years ive emptied the water ( bad i know) then sterilized them, ready for my brew.

is there any need to sanitize them? they should be clean already but ive always worried about it but would save me alot of effort knowing other do this or just being told they dont need it.

tthank you :ban:

Call me a paranoid cynic, but heck yes you need to sanitize them! I doubt there is any way to sterilize (remove all microbes) them.

been using PET bottles for some time - when emptied, I rinse, set on bottle rack to dry, put away until bottling day. Then, just prior to filling, soak in StarSan, shake off and fill. Never had any problems

okay ill carry on sterilizing them. better safe....

ive been using these water bottles for ages and the seal is good. never had any probelms from it :mug:
