Yooper. Pellet gun is effective. You just have to actively hunt for them. Although if your hubby is just as annoyed by them as I am, he may be up for the gratification of the hunt.
I had heard of it when I was a kid, getting $1 each for the chipmunks in my grandma's neighborhood. This lady she knew said that they used to go out with a truck with a water tank and do this for gophers or something. At $1 each, I was willing to try it. It works! But you can't just pour down any hole. It's go tot be the one they just went down. They will sit just under ground waiting a bit for you to leave. When the water comes in, they first place they go is straight up... into the jug!
