I used a 2 litre mason jar and it worked perfectly....
I racked my brew to secondary yesterday, and I am wondering about what is left in the mason jar....

1 litre of cloudy water with 1/2 inch of solid white trub or whatever on the bottom (fermentation was very excited and lots came through the tube)

Is this 1/2 of stuff yeast? can I harvest it for later use?

cheers,

I remember someone asking this same question a while back and the general answer seemed to be that whatever is in your blowoff container after fermentation is best poured down the drain. If you wanted to harvest the yeast, there will be plenty on the bottom of your fermenter for that.
