Anybody had experience with both of these conicals (talking 7.5/7.3 models)?

Blichmann is the higher price point and the brand name, Stout seems to be a bargain. Wanting to hear opinions from people who have either a) owned both or b) have one or the other and what they like/dislike about it.

Thanks!

I have the 7g blichmann. Happy with it. Never tried the stout so I can't compare. For me the blichmann fits in my lagering 14cuft fridge with 1in to spare. Blichmann uses excellent materials but then u r also paying for the name.

Had the blichmann 7g. Sold it and bought better bottles along with their fancy components.

Blichmann is well built. Very sturdy.
A bit of a pain to assemble, at least as compared to a carboy.
A bit of a pain to disassemble and clean.
The stainless ball valves are fine, but a bit of a pain to to disassemble and clean.
But the above are really just nits and once you have your brew day
procedure figured out, probably not a big deal for most people.

What pushed me to trade the Blichmann for BB was the cost of a second fermentor.
Just too much money for another one when I really did not love the first one.

BBs are light, easy to clean, easy to assemble/disassemble.
No obvious infections to date from using a plastic fermentor.

I usually just do 5g batches.
If I did 10g batches all the time I would probably get the 14g blichmann with tri-clamps
and set up a CIP system.
