I use columbus for bittering in most of my ales. It's got a nice bite.

I'm also a big fan of all columbus.

I have Brew Pastor's Bastard Lager in primary--that's an all-columbus california common. At the last minute I decided to use cascade for the flavor hops (keeping columbus for bittering, aroma and dry hopping). I love columbus but I love it less as a flavor hop than as a bittering and aroma hop. I'm hoping the cascade will give a little smoother flavor.
