After several years of fermenting in glass, I picked up my first Better Bottle from the LHBS last week. Between glass's much discussed safety issues (scary!) and added weight (a major negative with my recent back problems), I figured that I was overdue to give these a try.
However, upon closer inspection of the new BB, I was surprised to see a long string of plastic on the bottom center of the interior (see pics below) remaining from the manufacturing process. So my two questions are:
1. Is this common/expected with Better Bottles?
2. Should I be at all concerned about this somehow giving nasties a place to attach/hide?
If any of you experienced Better Bottler brewers could weigh in, that would be awesome. And if the answer is RDWHAHB, I am totally cool with that.
Thanks!
