Best way to aerate Wort?

Has anyone ever tried to aerate wort with a regular air compressor?

I know it isn't pure oxygen but I wonder if it would work or contaminate the beer?

What about pouring from standing height through a strainer (to catch the boil sediment as well)? I did this last time with my 5 gal boil and ended up with about 2 inches of foam. Do you think that would be an adequate amount of aeration?

With proper sanitation, could I use an electric mixer to aerate my wort? Or would that do something wonky to the proteins and sugars and whatnot?

Honestly I do 2 things. First I strain my wort through a sieve, second I pop the lid on and give it a good sloshing. I've yet to have a stuck fermentation or anything so I'm happy with my method. To get the sloshing BTW I put the lid on then rock it vigorously back and forth.
