Around where I live all I can seem to find is Brew Canada kits. I don't think there's anything wrong with them, but was looking to try something else as I'm sure there's better out there. What are some kits you guys like and some good websites to order off of? Also if they make them I like a bit above regular ABV, somewhere 5-7 or so. Thanks.

There are tons of suppliers that make all different types of kits available. The issue is Canadian shipping. It is a PITA and frequently shippers get the merchandise back due to unpaid customs and import fees. Therefore a lot of suppliers just dont ship to Canada without an agreement prior to purchasing the equipment. Look around and ask a potential supplier if they ship to Canada, you might be suprised, especially if they are in the Northern part of the US. Just a thought, hope it helps.

i was also wondering what the best first time kit would be. and what should i look for? and how much $ is too much $?

The advice I was given for my first batch was to brew a wheat or hefeweizen (sp?) because they ferment quickly and they're easy to maintain at a common household temp, 68-72.

"Brewhouse" is a Canadian brand and is VERY easy to ferment - just add water (and diff yeast id you want), pre-hoped and no boiling. May be boring for some, but easy and comes out good
