I have had a hard time finding brown rice syrup since December.
the places that I know of that carry it are all out of stock, and cant get clear answers from their distributers as to when it will be available.

where do you order GF brewing supplies?

I would love to find a single place I could order rice syrup, sorghum syrup, candi syrup, and maltodextrine at a reasonable cost.

I would like to hear about your favorite GF ingredient suppliers.

thanks

My LHBS only stocks the powder version. I think that is available in many home brew stores and on line. The powder version is also less expensive to ship. Any reason not to just use the powder instead?

My LHBS is Annapolis Home Brew. Www.annapolishomebrew.com they sell 2 different sorghum syrups, and brown rice syrup, candi and so on. I have not ordered from them via the Internet, only by going in person.

Hope this helps.

CavemanDom,

Are the two syrups your LHBS has Briessweet and Maillard? Would be interested to know if you have noticed a difference. I normally use Briessweet and recently purchased some Maillard to test. Have a batch with Maillard in the fermenter, but I don't have a real side-by-side comparison.

I've ordered online from Annapolis Home Brew and have been happy. They don't have it anymore, but for a while therey were the only place I could find that carried Dry Sorghum Extract. They are also the only place I know of that carries the 60DE sorghum extract. I've never tried it, but I've always been tempted to try in in a saison.

It is Briessweet according to the website. In my past trips I have not seen the 45DE in stock, only the 60. But it has been just fine for what I am doing. Also, I haven't tried to look for dry sorghum.

You're right, I have them switched.

The dry was nice for when your recipe only needed one more lb or if you went all grain and needed a little boost.
