Mostly insanely overpriced, and abused the generosity of some lambic brewers, decent food. What the hell is DHVL? Did I miss out last time I was in Brussels?

Oh the place with the bouncy house. Yeah, that was closed when we went, so no FOMO.De Heeren Van Liedekercke

Eh, besides the big-name stuff the menu is pretty reasonable. If you just want to drink vintage Trappists and regular gueuze there's no place better (at least that I'm aware of, perhaps there are some out there but no one's gonna be telling).Mostly insanely overpriced, and abused the generosity of some lambic brewers, decent food.
ZYF Batch 1 for 60€. Comes with water, pours of the two sherries used for the barrels, and the beer. Worth every penny. 2003 OGV was my next favorite of the day. Was just there yesterdayAnyone know if the 3F restaurant still has ZyF available for on-site consumption? (or for that matter any other vintage bottles that are noteworthy?) I saw some people mention it was available in the past. I'll be in Brussels Monday October 9th and since the brewery is closed on Mondays I was thinking about checking out the restaurant instead. I'll also be at Cantillon that day as well if any locals are interested in splitting some bottles.
I know I'm knew here but I have some friends on here that can vouch for me.

YesThat's the lambik-O-droom (brewery) and not the 3F restaurant?
3F restaurant hasn't had Zenne b1 available for a year plus.Anyone know if the 3F restaurant still has ZyF available for on-site consumption? I'll be in Brussels the 28th- 10.1. I didn't realize DHVL was on holiday then. Does anyone know if they ever come back from holiday earlier than expected or am I pretty much out of luck?
Looks as though Magnums dropped at Cantillon. Hopefully they last until next week when I am in town!
I'll be crossing my fingers too! Hopefully they will at least have it for on premises while I'm there. Thanks for the update, I guess I shouldn't be surprised they go quickly!
I'm hoping Fou drops by the time I arrive but people are saying it likely won't be available to go at the brewery until the end of October.
It's interesting that 2017 Fou is already hitting shops in other countries in the EU but not available at the brewery. I heard one anecdote that someone already got bottles at a shop in Paris.
Probable. I emailed Joost regarding a different subject about a week into their holiday (not expecting a response until after their holiday) and he responded the same day.I emailed DHVL yesterday about doing their fall prix fixe menu on Oct 4th (the day they reopen). What are the chances I'll hear back before the day-of? Or at all?
In for 10 Nov. Me +1Since there will be a few of us in Brussels the week of Nov 5th. I'd like to get a pulse on interest in visiting Tilquin. I am dying to checkout some of those new fruited variants Pierre has been making as well as pickup a few of the pinot noir aged bottles.
Tilquin's website says open Saturday's or by reservation. I'm assuming most of us will be at Cantillon that Saturday Nov 11th and since its a holiday I doubt Tilquin will be open anyway. The minimum requirement for scheduling a private tour is 10 people. I don't mind trying to organize a private tour for us if there is sufficient interest.
I'm leaning toward trying to plan for Fri Nov 10th if this is agreeable to everyone. Either way if you are interested maybe PM me or respond in the thread how many people you are and we can take it from there; timing, meeting up, getting to the brewery, etc... God I hope this works!!!

I'd probably be up for this if you were to go the following week (13th-16th).I'm leaning toward trying to plan for Fri Nov 10th if this is agreeable to everyone.

I am actually arriving that Saturday and will make my way over to Cantillon some time in the afternoon. Will be in Brussels November 4 and 5. If somebody wants to pop some bottles together at Cantillon (Saturday) or Grote Dorst (Sunday) let me know!
