Hey guys,
I'm pretty slack at posting so thought I'd share this recipe. This is an experimental brew, so could end up terrible or it could be amazing - I guess time will tell!
After 5 days this has fermented down to about 1.007, sample tastes really nice, with lots of grapefruit/citrus notes - but still lots of spice and character coming through from the yeast. I have just dry hopped this so will report back in a couple of weeks once i have kegged it.
(Also i am aware this isn't really the ideal yeast for a Belgian IPA, but it was on hand and I just put straight onto the yeast cake)
6.5% // 55 IBU // OG 1.060 // 67 degree Mash
5.22kg Gladfield American Ale Malt (85.5%)
0.61kg Gladfield Wheat Malt (10%)
0.28kg Gladfield Light Crystal Malt (4.5%)
17g Columbus @ 60min
30g Amarillo @ 20min
33g Amarillo @ 10min
11g Nelson Sauvin @ 10min
21g Amarillo @ 5min
7g Nelson @ 5min
45g Amarillo @ 70C Whirlpool/steep for 15mins
15g Nelson @ 70C Whirlpool/steep for 15mins
WLP565 yeast cake from previous Saison
70g Amarillo Dry hop 5days
20g Nelson Dry Hop 5days
