I went to Temescal on Saturday, tried everything new on the board, wasn't impressed with anything besides the mild. But I didn't want a growler of the mild for the 4th so I just used one of my freebies on Way Fun, which I thought was fine-but-not-exciting. Thing is, drinking it out of the growler, I liked it more, putting it on par with anything Cellarmaker does (keep in mind that I'm a Cellarmaker "hater" in that I think their IPAs are "only" very good, not world-class). Before drinking we got a sandwich from Bakesale Betty's*, so I think that might've jacked my palette, I dunno.
Anyway I get that they're not quite at Fieldwork level from the get-go, but it's one of a handful of beer places I can bring my kid so I'll be going there a lot. Plus Wade draws cool cats.
*Aside, but there was 0 line for BB's, and when I was living down the street the days without a line down the block were ridiculously rare. Has this changed lately or did we just get lucky?
