So Cellarmaker isn't open until 2 on Sunday. May just head to Blueprint taproom or somewhere nearby and hit Cellarmaker after the game to grab some growlers.

Also, if anyone in the city can grab some apple pie mead from SF Mead Company so I don't have to head there too on Sunday, I'll Paypal for the bottle and toss some thank you beer your way. Or we can trade for it. Whatever works

Where do you get that?

Also, relevant to Cellarmaker discussion earlier. Their 1st? bottled release

The mead? It's at SF Mead Company. 1180 Shafter Ave. They're closed through the week but apparently will open if you let them know you're going a few hours prior. Open Saturdays and Sundays normally I think

super short notice, but i'm going to be in san jose for work on tomorrow/friday. will probably make it to san jose at like 9pm tomorrow and will be headed back to sfo to catch a flight around 3 the next day, so i don't have a whole lot of time. what is the best bet bottleshop(s) to hit? i'm hoping to score some alpine (do they get distro up there?). i will have a car.

Alpine doesn't distro up here. Though I'm sure some shops carry it, I don't know which ones.

got it. given my notice and real lack of time to research, and the lack of alpine distro, i might just skip taking my 12 shipper suitcase (******* bag fees) and just find something good to drink in my hotel room.

You may not be able to get Alpine, but if you hit the K&L Wines in Redwood City, you may be able to score some Modern Times Blazing World, which is pretty fantastic and typically only available in SoCal.

won't work for me unfortunately, i'm arriving too late to make it to the store before it closes.

my current plan is basically run to bobby's liquor in santa clara, grab some in-n-out, and bring it back to my hotel to gorge.

so i'm now in my hotel room drinking a simtra (tasty btw) with a spring st. bretta on deck; are in-n-out's fries supposed to be this terrible? they were soggy, lifeless, undersalted rubbish. the 2x2 animal style burger was legit though.

i really wish i would have brought my shipper after all. bobby's had tons of beer i would have liked to bring back with me. that place was weird as hell. super shady but with tons of good craft and prices all over the damn map ($45 for baby saz? grey monday at zero markup ($40)?) i can anticipate work sending me here again so i'll make sure to load up next time.

I love In-N-Out but hate the fries. You can actually ask to have them “well done” which means crispier, but I find it’s way too inconsistent. Animal style 2x2 is definitely the way to go though.

The wine club in Santa Clara gets Modern Times and other SoCal only distro because they transfer from their Santa Ana store. It has also been crazy fresh every time I've purchased it there!

You gotta do the fries animal style too.

Pretty damn funny seeing a store sell a brewery only beer at cost, who thought that was a good idea. I hope you stocked up on that.

Bobby's is a strange place, but sadly it's one of the few options in the Santa Clara / Sunnyvale area (aside from Santa Clara Liquors and The Wine Club). If you ever head back let me know and I'll round up some people for a share or we can head to SmokeEaters (http://taplist.at/SmokeEaters-SanJose/).

Some people like those fries, but those people are wrong.

I should've warned you about the fries when I read your In-n-Out burger plans - they really are terrible, and getting them well-done only turns them from pallid, limp, and depressing to occasionally crunchy, mostly leathery, and still depressing. Fries are the only reason I feel McDonald's deserves to keep doing business in a state where In-n-Out exists.

cool, thanks for the offer, if i wind up coming back i'll contact you. if the meeting wasn't so last minute i probably would have planned better and maybe hung out with people. if i didn't have someplace to be tomorrow, i would probably have stayed an extra day and bummed around the area.

I loathe coming to RR on a weekend - traffic snarls, always crowded, and now there's an hour+ wait in line. The new normal. Sadly, this will be my last goandpickitupformebro excursion up here. It's too much.
