I did a vert of the last three batches and they got worse as they got newer. Not sure if they were worse out the gate, but it seemed to suggest that they were more appealing to me as they got older.

I believe that, I haven't really drank it in the past couple of years. I just know the 2012 was pretty bad and 2013 was getting worse. Those are the only 2 years I waited in line for it.

hopefully it last as long as last years. pretty excited to hear its vinnie's favorite batch yet, wow!

Curious, how long did the bottles last last year? Are the lines outrageous? I haven't been paying attention and I'd like to get my hands on some bottles this year but won't be able to get up there until Sat after the release (August 4th).

Even B3? I had one recently and while it wasn't as great as it used to be it was hardly terrible.
I was a bit harsher than the others drinking and B3 was the second best, but I didn't think it was great. pH1 was legitimately good still, I was somewhat shocked.

Did Rare Barrel ever do anything with that barrel? Man, sure would be nice if a single brewery followed up on their pre-opening money-grab promises...

I know they did the search for the next one. So I think they did something. Didn't live up to the previous iterations though, clearly.

Yeah, originally it was going to be a yearly party for members or some ****. I guess it took them 4 years to remember they promised it.

I am (too) quickly knocking off my old bottles of Santification.

My wife gave me the SERIOUS side eye when I mentioned meeting up with beer friends on our trip this weekend/next week....so if I'm able to go out on Fr-Sa this weekend or Tu-We night next week - it might be short notice/I'll post up here.

We arrive at 11am on Friday and our hotel is in Japantown - what's the best way to get from SFO (we're not getting a car yet)? BART? Google says BART to bus....

Uber from SFO or from the BART stop?

If you're going to use Uber at all, do it from the airport.

I guess the real question is - getting on the bus in Chicago can be annoying (crowded buses, jostling to allow people off and on) just in a daily commute with a messenger bag/backpack and only yourself to keep track of. Doing that solo plus a suitcase would be mildly hellish. Doing that with a family and multiple suitcases = I'd only wish that on my enemies.

Is it the same in SF?

What would locals recommend for a family visiting with multiple bags? E.g., what do you guys do when going to/from the airport?

I'm very pro-public transit, but Uber sounds like the way to go. Having to take the shuttle to BART to...the 38? to J-town with a bunch of kids and bags sounds no fun. It's not terrible solo, but with multiple people, just do the easier way.
